Customer Overview
SF Express operates one of China's most extensive express delivery networks, with its Central China distribution hub serving as a core sortation node across multiple domestic regions. The facility runs a high-throughput operation in which the large majority of parcel volume is handled by high-speed cross-belt systems - infrastructure built for speed and scale on heavyweight parcel flows.
Challenge
Despite the efficiency of the hub's cross-belt infrastructure, a specific operational gap remained at the conveyor ends: parcels under 5kg and letters required manual sorting, introducing a higher error rate and inconsistency into an otherwise highly automated operation.
The challenge was compounded by a site constraint unique to the facility - the floor cannot support additional heavy fixed equipment, and the operation requires flexibility for future business changes. Any solution deployed in this environment needed to be lightweight, stable, and adaptable without structural modification.
Solution
HyperWall Node Lite was deployed as a modular, flexible complement to the hub's existing cross-belt systems - handling the lightweight parcel and letter goods sorting that the cross belts are not optimised for, within the spatial and weight constraints of the site.
The pilot deployment of a single Node Lite unit is designed to verify scenario adaptability ahead of a broader rollout across additional conveyor lines at the facility.
